Welcome,

I’m a fourth generation Texan and have spent my life in Central Texas.  Just like my father, and just like all of my children, I was born in District 57.  My first and foremost priority is to continue making our community an even better place for all of us.  That’s why I first ran for the Legislature over a decade ago.

As your State Representative, I believe in working hard to fight for the interests of the people who live in Falls, Leon, Madison, McLennan and Robertson counties to create opportunities for a better future for all of us.

I’ve focused my efforts on:

Representing District 57 in the Texas House is a great honor.  But there are some people from outside our district who do not want me to continue serving our communities.  I chose to be independent minded and stand up and fight for the best interest of my constituents last session, and, because of that, I am routinely targeted by the extreme right wing of the Republican Party.  Evidently, they don’t like House members who they can’t boss around.

Last session they were determined to roll over the rights of everyday Texans, go backwards on our commitment to education and health care for children, and disenfranchise millions of Texas voters.  I am proud that we succeeded in shining a bright light on these misuses and abuses of political power, and I know that Texas is much better for it.

I need your help so that I can return to the Texas House and continue the fight.  I ask that you join our team and put up a yard sign, donate, go door-to-door and remind your friends and family to vote for Jim Dunnam.  With your support, I will continue to fight for the best interests of the good people of District 57.
